• The venerable rec.gambling.lottery started way back in the 1990s, soon after the Internet was opened to the civilians (the act of the Bill Clinton Administration, specifically the work of Vice President Al Gore).

There are countless threads here — I am referring to the pages saved by Google Groups. Evidently, it is impossible to keep tabs of everything written in this public forum. This is an attempt to create an index of what’s worthy in the Google group dedicated to the lottery. Usually, the root URL is:

bookies now part of the GVC group.

Coral used to have a pretty decent website for lottery betting. Then
when they were taken over, it was trashed in favour of a highly mobile
phone oriented site. Much of the functionality was removed - no more
perms, for example - and the quality of the new site is atrocious. Pages
take forever to load as the emphasis is on scrolling ads, and the help
system doesn't reflect the actual pages. Customer support is so poor
it's a tragi-comedy - it's obvious their techies have never used the
site and can't be bothered trying to reproduce any symptoms explained to
them.

There is a high dose of cynicism in the Western civilization when it comes to judging the governments.

But there are civilizations, like Islamic, where the governments are worse than organized crime — they are MONSTERS. I read recently that the government of Brunei imposed STONING TO DEATH OF LGBT PEOPLE. And that monstrous act is done IN PUBLIC!

The Western civilization should NUKE OUT the monsters who stone people to death. But that wouldn’t be civilization anymore, would it?

Now, back to the BOOkie thingy.

I said it before, I had a positive experience with window betting. I bet on American football in Romania. I lost once, I increased the bet the second time around and I won. They paid me!

The most stunning experience happened in the main railway station of Bucharest in 2017. I was on my way back to USA. I met a group of whites and gypsies. Their business was “organized begging”. They “raised capital” for sports betting. The ring leader showed me a bag full of money (after I treated them with beer!) “Maybe 10,000 euros,” he said.

He was betting only on two teams: from Manchester. United and City had lots of wins. He was Martingaling after a loss. I don’t think either team had more than 3 consecutive losses, if that many. The more they won, the larger their bets got. They played at multiple outlets, but still attracted attention. Still, they were paid!

That’s how you should bet. European soccer is royalty-based. There just a few good teams in a league. Bet only on the best teams, only a few of them. They don’t lose many consecutive. Thus Martingale is in tall order.

The reversed applies in 1X2 soccer pools (13 or 14 matches). Play 1, 2 in matches where the best teams play. You need to hit just once a year for really good money. There are always surprises, even against the royals…

The case of ManUnited you refer to is a case of psychology. It is very important in sports, therefore in sport-betting. I won the last two Super Bowls based on a psychological factor: Momentum.

This is a hyped period in the U.S. sports: ‘March Madness’ (college basketball). They reached now the ‘Final Four’: a mini-tournament of the 4 remaining teams.

The BOOkies offer here many types of bets. Vegas offer so-called ‘futures’. I think your bookies offer that bet too.

In my estimation, Auburn has the momentum. They are the lowest seeded team in the ‘Final Four’. They eliminated a #4, a #2, and a #1 seed to qualify. Betting 100 on Auburn would make me 700 profit. Those who bet 100 on Auburn at the beginning of ‘March Madness” would make 4000 profit! I won’t, ‘cuz I didn’t see Auburn reaching the “Final Four’, let alone winning the national championship.

The national championship game is tonite at 9 PM. I won't bet because there is no good value in any bet (close to 1/1). My pick, however, is Texas Tech. They have the momentum. Not to mention that playing ‘quick picks’ is like playing ‘favorite’ lottery numbers… that is, playing ‘randomly’. The chance of failure is very close to ‘guaranteed’ (i.e. close to 100% loss):

Optimizing the Skip Systems in Lottery, Lotto

1) The easiest and most straight-forward free roulette system based on wheel bias. This system does work in the long-run by assuring wins to a majority of roulette players. The system is based on roulette numbers that show repeats in the last 15-30 spins — one or two marquee screens.

Even if playing randomly roulette numbers, a high percentage of players will win in the long run. By contrast, playing randomly lottery numbers almost guarantees losses by the lotto players in the long run.

2) Card-counting is BIG in blackjack but based on false premises. Virtually all counting systems report only the ratio between the high cards (especially Ten-valued cards) and low cards (especially from 2 to 6). If the difference between high and low is positive, the player must increase his bet.

Problem always is, the count per se cannot be a bet-determining factor. The result of the high cards does not always benefit the player (who is the counter). There are other players at the table, plus the dealer. The c(o)unter loses a majority of rounds when the count is high (or "positive").

My system divides the cards in 3 groups of equal lengths.

• A = the low group: cards 2, 3, 4, 5 (delta = 3 between the lowest and the highest card in the group)
• B = the middle group: cards 6, 7, 8, 9 (delta = 3 between the lowest and the highest rank in the group)
• C = the high group: 10-valued cards (10, J, Q, K).

The Ace is simply side-counted, knowing that the norm is 1/13.

Google swallowed Deja News and created Google Groups. Deja News was a wonder even during the primitive era of the Internet (1990s). Google Groups was a decent platform, up until this November, 2020, Friday the 13th.

Frankly, I’ve been shocked Google Groups lasted this long! Google is notorious for:

a) Offering services
b) Changing the offerings — always change for the worse
c) Cancelling/discontinuing the offerings.

So, Google Groups reached the second phase: change for the worse. Logically, the cancellation of the service is to be expected.

Google has offered and then discontinued over 25 services in their short life. No company has survived such miserable behavior. But, hey, think how Donald Caligula Trump succeeded in becoming Prez… and lasting 4 years!

Usenet, RSS — The Pioneers Are Alive and Kicking

Usenet revolutionized the Virtual World by connecting people with similar interests. Eventually, it created RSS: Really Simple Syndication. All socializing platforms, including the Facebooks of the world, rely on RSS. They also imitate Usenet by creating... groups. That is, newsgroups, where the participants share common interests.

But only Usenet is totally free of censorship! By contrast, the Facebookies rely more on censorship than freedom of expression.

One drawback of the Google service, very useful otherwise, is the default font. It is a proportional font (of variable-width, that is). However, initially Usenet was written and shown in a monospace font.

It is quite easy and simple to add this useful feature to two of your browsers: Chrome and Firefox. Just read this axiomatic thread:
