Plusnet had a glitch last week as well, but eventually all the delayed
messages got through. This week, all the delayed messages got lost.

I had to give up having a PlusNet news server when they (PlusNet)
converted my line to Fibre (and also give up my landline (b*stards). Go
find another mail provider they said. I already had Eternal September
as a parallel newsgroup provider, now it's my only.

But I did discover this a little while ago

Does that mean you had a plusnet e-mail account but not their broadband?

I was a, ahem, a customer of a big company that has a Partnership. They
sub contracted their ISP and email services to PlusNet to run. Really I
only joined them "the Partnership", in the mid 2000s, was because they
had a NewsGroup server having been a Freeserve (FS) customer initially.
FS had NewsGroup servers. But FS became unreliable for posts.
Particularly in the Binaries groups. Then this Partnership company
backed out last year of wanting to be an ISP and I went with the "real"
provider PlusNet. But PlusNet told me they wouldn't allow me to have
access to their NewsGroup servers and they would not let me have a
PlusNet email account. So I have a shiny new Y*h*o account but always
had gmail - one the jinks account and the other with my real name. I'm
sure you might think WTF PlusNet, you already have customers who have
email and NG accounts. But wouldn't budge. "We don't do that anymore
for new customers". After my initial few years is ended I'll go to
Community Fibre. The line is ok though but I have no other services
from PlusNet.
