Happy Pie Day 3.14 2016!

It is curious, at best, that many lottery players swear by PI! They take the longest possible string of digits in PI and select lottery numbers to play from it. Of course, sometimes such numbers hit here and there in the hundreds of lottery games worldwide! I haven't heard of a jackpot win though.

Let's play:

3, 14, 15, 59, 26, 53
(in order, as required by the WLC).

Even more natural than PI is e: the base of... well... the natural logarithm. The logarithmic function is at the heart of the Universe, as it were. The entire Universe is shaped as the logarithmic function. Remember those open-ended spiral shapes of the galaxies (also hurricanes on Earth)...

So, numeric aficionados (e.g. lottery-krazed forums), let's apply the natural logarithm (ln) to various lottery game formats.

* 3-digit games (e.g. pick-3 lotteries in USA)
ln(3) = 1.0986122886681096913952452369225
Play examples: 109, 861, 228, 866 etc.

* 4-digit games (e.g. pick-4 lotteries in USA)
ln(4) = 1.3862943611198906188344642429164
Play examples: 1386, 2943, 6111, 9890, 6188 etc.

* 5-number games (e.g. lotto-5 worldwide)
ln(5) = 1.6094379124341003746007593332262
Play examples: 1, 6, 16, 9, 43, 12, 24, 34, 41, 10, 37, 22 etc. ("Wheel 'em up, Joe!")

* 6-number games (e.g. lotto-6 worldwide)
ln(6) = 1.7917594692280550008124773583807
Play examples: 1, 17, 9, 59, 46, 22, 8, 55, 12, 47, 35 etc. ("Wheel 'em up, Kokostirk!")

You must check for winners before actual play. Look for number strings that haven't won significantly in a long time. The best software for the task is Bright*.exe, component U = Super Utilities, function W = Check Winners. The function can check strings of numbers -- e.g. 12 lotto numbers before wheeling or generating combinations.

Very interesting. I might try it out. Create 5-number combinations from the numbers in PI, and another from a chosen log(x) number. Backtrack both against history archive. Any relation? Will see.

Axiomatic:

How about this novel approach? Let's use PI as a randomization seed. I opened the source code of Wheel6 and added this statement:

' TheSeed = TheSeeder ()
' RANDOMIZE TheSeed
' FOR I = 1 TO RND(1,1618)
' TheSeed = TheSeeder ()
' NEXT I
'
' RANDOMIZE TheSeed

RANDOMIZE 3.1415926535897932384626433832795

Wheel6.exe is lotto wheeling software in random-generation mode:
http://saliu.com/lotto6-software.html
(Best Lotto Software for 6 Numbers Lottery Games)
http://saliu.com/ultimate-lotto6-software.html
(Ultimate Software for All 6-Number Lotto Games)

I chose the '4 of 6' minimum guarantee for 59 numbers. Data file used: UK 6/59 Lotto. Last (most recent) drawing in the file: February 25, 2017
18 24 34 38 41 49

I applied just one filter (restriction):
Del6 = 12000000 (12 million… yes, it gets that high some 15 times in 100 draws).
Del6 is short for Delta-6. It eliminates all 6-number groups in each of the past draws selected (e.g. 1000000). The groups are in delta format. That is, all groups that have the same deltas are eliminated. If a past combonation was
5 15 22 32 46 55
then the program also eliminates:

4 14 21 31 45 54
6 16 23 33 47 56
7 17 24 34 48 57
etc., etc.

I stopped the Wheel-6 program after some 500 combosnations generated and selected the last 20.

3 5 8 13 50 57
2 7 17 20 45 56
2 9 12 38 48 55
3 9 32 35 48 59
5 9 15 22 54 56
7 9 42 47 50 58
2 29 44 49 51 58
2 14 26 42 50 52
2 17 26 34 40 59
3 14 26 27 53 58
7 17 27 39 49 51
8 22 26 36 38 46
8 18 42 46 50 55
9 13 19 20 30 58
9 13 17 47 51 57
10 19 28 37 51 55
13 21 36 39 47 55
15 19 25 29 39 43
16 41 45 49 52 56
38 40 42 45 46 48

Check it out and see how the 20-combo set fares in the next UK 6/59 lottery draws...

Ultra Axiomatics:

• There is a new useful feature for reading the Usenet posts in Google Groups. The vast majority of newsgroup members use GROUPS.GOOGLE.COM to post and read on the Internet pioneering service, Usenet.

One drawback of the Google service, very useful otherwise, is the default font. It is a proportional font (of variable width, that is). However, initially, Usenet was written and shown in a monospace font.

Many of the statistical reports I posted over the years did not show up in an acceptable format. The original format was typewriter format (the Courier font). I shall inventory the most important posts in this newsgroup and refer the readers to this important thread. Viewing will be better overall.

It is quite easy and simple to add this useful feature to two of your browsers: Chrome and Firefox. Just read this axiomatic thread:

Regular Patterns on Lottery Play Slips

Axiomatics:

PI, PHI (golden number), Fibonacci numbers offer fixed patterns that players apply to lottery. It is a form of religiosity. I know how "devout" church ladies are in this respect.

In the 1980s I read that New York lottery officials expressed worries about geometric shapes or patterns created by the numbers in some lotto draws. They have been aware that many lottery players have played their picks in a manner that created geometric patterns on the lotto play slips.

There aren't too many regular, geometric shapes that lotto numbers can group into. Therefore, a large number of players would play the same sets of numbers. If such sets would hit the lotto jackpot, the jackpot would be depressingly meager. The main attraction of lotto games is, of course, big jackpots! The officials were right to worry about the possibility of regular (geometric) patterns in the lottery drawings -- or resemblance thereof.

I wrote somehow humorously on the topic. I called the "lottery pattern frenzy" the "Koffotzuntz patterns". Nonetheless, the writing is fact-based. I did see all kinds of lotto play slips with geometrical patterns. Indeed, old church ladies tend to play patterns that resemble the CROSS. Them ladies even told me that they also promised The Lord to share the jackpot with the church and poor people!

This is one of the cross-like patterns (the * represent lotto numbers, the squares the players fill in):

When I see "geometric" patterns on my playslips, I know them tickets are not going to win -- far more often than not. I go back to the drawing board.

It is curious, at best, that many lottery players swear by PI! They take the longest possible string of digits in PI and select lottery numbers to play from it. Of course, sometimes such numbers hit here and there in the hundreds of lottery games worldwide! I haven't heard of a jackpot win though.

Again, PI, e (base of natural logarithm), PHI (golden number), Fibonacci numbers… all offer FIXED PATTERNS that players apply to lottery. The numbers to play in lottery are always the same. Some PI, e, PHI numbers hit sometimes in some lotteries (there are so many in the world!) I doubt they ever hit million-dollar jackpots. Yes, the chance is they WILL hit — but it might take a lifetime or two.

Most lottery players consider such lottery method FILTERING. It ain’t TRUE filtering, however. TRUE FILTERING is assured only by applying DYNAMIC FILTERS as in my lottery software. You might want to read more determinedly about true lottery filtering, including in this ageless newsgroup:

Happy PI Day 3.14 2017!

This is the 2nd edition of PI Day in rec.gambling.lottery. Hence:

PI PI = PI^2 = 9.8696044010893586188344909998762

Pick-3: 986 960 440 108 935 861 883 449 099 987 62*
Pick-4: 9869 6044 0108 9358 6188 3449 0999 8762
Lotto-6: 9 8 6 04 44 40 10 35 18 34 49 26 = 12 numbers for the 'perfect lotto wheel' (http://saliu.com/lottowheel.html)

PI squared has many high digits (8, 9).
How about ((PI squared)squared)?

(PI^2)^2 = 97.409091034002437236440332688705

Fewer high digits, more lotto 5/6 possibilities:
9 7 40 10 34 24 43 37 23 44 33 26 = 12 numbers for the 'perfect lotto wheel' (Go get it, Wheely Kotkoduck!)

Guess what? The PI came out this glorious month of March, year of grace 2017!

Pick-3 drawing in Pennsylvania Lottery: 314.
Well… it was close… the drawing was on March 11…

The same day, the 5-number lotto (Pennsylvania Cash 5) had also a relation to PI:
(1)3 14…

The lottery commissions shouldn’t play… games with the players. That kind of games can hurt the commissions badly…

AxiomatiKos:

Of course, the axiomatix know that playing numbers like PI or PHI (the golden number) in the lottery is just RANDOM PLAY. They have NO relation to lottery data (past drawings, past winning numbers, etc.) The mystics believe some numbers (PI, PHI, e) are "special" and "influence" the lottery draws.

In truth (mathematically, that is), PI, PHI, e simply follow the probability rules. They will NOT be drawn more often on average. For instance, a pick-3 number derived from PI (e.g. 314) will appear '1 in 1000' draws. It is what probability theory determines for that type of lottery game.

I did statistical reporting in two Pennsylvania lottery games: 'Pick 3' and 'Pick 4'. I derived two numbers for each games.

I guess it was Doollow who messaged to me that guys messaged to him with objections. Methinks the “guys” were the likes of Kotskarr, Kokostirk et al. The questions they raised:

“How do numbers, or numbered balls, or cat-dog-painted-balls know theory of probability? Do them numbers or balls have minds… ohrr… memory, for the least? How do them balls know when to come out and how many times?”

How hotly such “memory” issues were debated, mostly here, in this hou’ Kotkoduck and Kokostirk built! The issues turned virulent after one Parpaluck entered the scene. O tempora! O mores!

http://saliu.com/bbs/messages/575.html
“The lottery balls don't have memory!”

At the other end of the spectrum, the likes of Kotkoduck, Karaklonchah et al. believe them lottery balls have special powers. Especially numbers in a perceived “divine category” have super powers. Numbers like the golden/divine number PHI, PI, e can choose to show up at will: Much more often than the rest of the numbers.

The believers in the latter group also practice a ritual they call ‘Hatching the golden eggs’. Say, Kotkoduck gathers white pebbles and inscribes them with lottery numbers. Kotkoduck also built a large stork-type nest in his home. He hatches the “eggs” (pebbles) the night before the lottery drawing. Finally, he chooses “eggs” based on their temperature. Sometimes Kotkoduck plays only hot numbers; other times, cold “eggs” only.

The PHI (6180) pick-4 combination appeared 1 time in 11000+ draws; still close to the probability norm (1/10000).
If we analyze data in all state lotteries that offer pick-3 and pick4 games, the averages will be very, very close to the probability norms.
This is the STATIC aspect of lottery play. The DYNAMIC aspect (as in lottery strategies based on DYNAMIC FILTERS) is a totally different beast. Beating the bestial odds requires a dynamic sword swiping left and right...

“God is the number, the Number is God.” – Pythagoras, Memorably At-Large
The objections continue. I hear: “Axiomatic one, the lottery numbers do not appear equally.”

My response is always: “YESNO”.

Indeed, if we analyze one lottery game, in one lottery jurisdiction, we certainly discover obvious discrepancies. At the extreme, some numbers do not appear at all! Some numbers show up several times more often than others.

• I did a statistical report for the ‘straight sets’ in the pick-3 game of Pennsylvania Lottery. My database has 9353 drawings. At the top, the sets ‘246’ and ‘293’ recorded 19 hits each. At the bottom, the sets ‘398’ and ‘310’ recorded only 1 hit apiece.

• I did also a statistical report for the ‘straight sets’ in the pick-4 game of Pennsylvania Lottery. My database has 11505 drawings. At the top, the sets ‘3346’ and ‘7316’ recorded 6 hits each. At the bottom… well, the bottom is very large: 3117 pick 4 straight sets have not been drawn yet!
• Furthermore, there are even pick-4 BOXED sets that have not come out yet: 1199, 2222, 8888.

See the reports for yourself:

http://saliu.com/freeware/Pick4-Straight-Stats.html
http://saliu.com/freeware/Pick4-Boxed-Stats.html

The statistical discrepancy in a particular lottery game is well explained by the Fundamental Formula of Gambling (FFG). There is a very important parameter: FFG median. The numbers tend to repeat after a number of drawings (skip) below the FFG median. The phenomenon creates TRENDS in lottery (in all events, actually, for everything is RANDOM). Lottery strategizing is founded on trends. I wrote in this article ( http://saliu.com/bbs/messages/923.html ):

“I showed that in a lotto 6/48 (or 6/49) game, every number will repeat within 6 drawings in over 50% of the situations. Let's dig deeper into this statement. So, the probability of a lotto 6/49 number to repeat is 1/2 times 1/6 (the number will repeat after 1, or 2, or 3, or 4, or 5, or 6 drawings). The combined probability is 1/2 x 1/6 = 1/12. Actually, it is .54 * 1/6 = 0.09. But the lottery draws 6 numbers, therefore the probability to get all 6 numbers repeating after 1 to 6 drawings is: 0.9 ^ 6 = 0.000000531 (raising to the power of 6). The result can be expressed also as 5.31 times in 10 million, or 1,881,676 to 1. Well, the odds are better than playing 6 random numbers (1 in 13,983,816): 7 and half times better. That's a law, too. No matter when you play such a lotto strategy, your odds will always be seven times better than purely-random play.”

I haven’t seen a lottery draw where all numbers have skips in double digits. Forget about all lotto numbers in a drawing with skips of 20+!

On the other hand, all lottery numbers are equally obedient to probability theory. If we put together all drawings in all pick-4 lottery games in the world, it will be “tremendously” evident that all pick-4 straight sets will be closely-equally drawn. I don’t think there will be any set with no appearance. If you’ll be able to put together such a database, I’ll be able to generate the most accurate statistical report.

The number appearance is not related to “hatching the golden eggs”, Kotkoduck!

Happy Golden Number/Divine Proportion Day!

As the case with PI Day, there is also a PHI Day (Golden Number). It is also based on the American date format: mm/dd. June 18 is 06/18. Of course, PHI = 0.618.

As in the case of PI, applying PHI to lottery is equally disturbing from a mental-health perspective. It is crazy, that is, that it is!

The theory of lottery strategies has come to full fruition. Both ‘static’ and ‘dynamic’ strategies are fully analyzed, including the ‘reversed lottery strategy’. The comprehensive analysis pairs each type of strategy with its specific lottery software application.

Many lottery enthusiasts have this mystical strategy in their toolset. They believe that some numbers have miraculous powers (e.g. PI, PHI the ‘golden number or divine proportion, e the base of the natural logarithm, etc.) In the long run (over 1000 draws), playing such numbers insures losses in accordance with the house edge. The vast majority of pick-3/pick-4 lotteries lost thousands of dollars playing “madjyck numbers”.

That is, turn the pie upside down and eat it! That's how some numerologists apply PI to the lottery. They take the string of digits and reverse it.

PI = 3.1415926535897932384626433832795

Reversed-PI = 59723833462648323979358562951413

The same difference! Selecting numbers is still random and leads to overall losses according to the house edge.

Congratulations, Divine PI for reaching the millennial status!
As a token of appreciation, I publish this totally new PI lottery system. Using a scientific calculator, display PI with at least 31 digits (to cover every day of every month).
3.1415926535897932384626433832795
Ginuary 18, 2019: 1/18/2019 = 1182019

PI * 1182019 = 3713422.2068035538139343752692607

Go to digit 18 in the string: 1 (followed by 393...)

• Pick-3 set
• 139

• Pick-4 set
• 1394

For lotto, if you reach the end of the string, continue as in circling: go back to the beginning of the string and keep selecting digits/numbers.

• 5-number lotto
• 13, 9, 34, 37, 5

• 6-number lotto
• 13, 9, 34, 37, 5, 26

The sets/combosnations should be played for drawings: PI * 10 = 31.

Good point, axios! Why multiply PI by 10, when the year (circle, get it?) has 12 sectors (months)?!

• PI * 12 = 37.7.

Thusly, the sets/combosnations should be played for drawings: 38.

Best of luck to you all, astronomically-axiomatic ones!

Some lotto games require at least two tickets. The good news is you can combine the digits in the PI string in more ways than one.

• 5-number lotto
• 13, 9, 34, 37, 5
• 1, 39, 34, 43, 7

My 5-number lotto game in Pennsylvania uses 43-numbered balls. If your game has a lower maximum number, redo the digit-combining to fit your game.

• 6-number lotto
• 13, 9, 34, 37, 5, 26
• 1, 39, 34, 43, 7, 26

Recombine the digits to fit your game. E.g. if the game draws from 59 numbers, make the second ticket:
• 1, 39, 34, 43, 7, 52

It's OK if some numbers repeat; it's kinduva lotto wheel.

The sets/combinations should be played for drawings: 38 beginning today. What we do is we add luck and mystery to mathematics. You’ve read reports on how some lottery players win playing in this manner.

Interesting topic February V, MMXIX

"PI * 1182019 = 3713422.2068035538*13*9343752692607

Go to digit 18 in the string: 1 (followed by 393...)"

13, 3

Even PI confirmed my theory. The result of Super Bowl LIII was:
*13 - 3*
It beat the point spread by a wide margin.

• "Will the Bookies lose big again on Super Bowl LIII, with the Patriots’ favorites at only 2.5 points (compared to 5.5 to 6.5 last year)?"

I was with the Eagles last year. I am with the Patriots this Super Bowl. Too bad I was late… when the line was 'pick-em'. My feeling is the bookies are going to lose big in this Super Bowl… but not as bad as the “Black Sunday” of 1979 (Super Bowl XIII).

I won two years in a row. Many bookies curse me badly... probably worse than the Doollows and Kotskarrs of the world!

Remember last time when you begged me for your master and I kick you off?
Driveling Yak 驅動犛牛

You forgot the total solar eclipse of 2017! You found a large amount of meth that period of time. And that’s what gave you the “courage” to bang heads with me. I buried you so deep in that iGrave of iPsychosis that you started a desperate begging campaign based on suicidal blackmail! I am desperate,” you cried. “I can’t go to work,” you cried. “You are sadistic,” you cried. It was all solved when the Red Psychiatrists placed you back in that straitjacket and forcefully threw the meds down your throat!

Now, it is the ‘Year of the Pig’. It’s a celebratory habit in the East, including North Korea, to bash in meth and opioids. In your case, drugged pig of G'd and S'int Keter, you overdosed yourself in meth! And that’s what gave you the “courage” to bang heads with me — again!

But, rest assured, I’ll throw you back in that iGrave of iPshychosis. That’s how I do humanitarian good. See how much milder you are now compared to 2017? Not to mention, before 2017 you was far worse, leper! Those here who think they are good Christians with you do you more harm than good. My way is the only way to deal with rabid lambs and drugged pigs like you.

• “If you start Pearl Harbor, you’ll get Hiroshima!”

Staying in your miserable pigsty (aka r.g.l. “nan thread”) is the only way to keep you from feeling like dying… and thusly “missing work”…

Hi.
I read to you when I can and you have very interesting things that I also use.
In my tests, since it is a hobby and I do not usually play.
I hope that when writing for the first time nobody bothers.
Curiosity calls me the number pi, since I use it to create the line of 20 numbers, as well as I use other concepts, which you surely use them.
So I ask Mr. Ion Saliu.
Why multiply the PI number by a factor to get a number and have to search. When I could be possible to provide you the game numbers directly.
Maybe I do not understand it well.
If I can corraborate that I use it and you can get 20 numbers, in which there are many times 2 hits, for the lotteries of my country.
I do not tell you that it is a bad idea, on the contrary, I find it good, it provides successes, not all the desired ones.
If I thank you for the idea that you expose, as one more help.
I hope my comments do not bother anyone.
Apologies for the audacity to write since they are translated from Spanish into English.

Axiomático:

It is somehow harder to get humo(u)r in a foreign idiom. I’ve been joking this entire thread, especially the lottery “systems”.

PI, or PHI, or any number, has NO relation to the lottery. Playing the lottery based on such numbers is equal to playing randomly. You can read a thorough statistical analysis based on real-life data:

https://saliu.com/lottery-numbers-loss.html
(“Average Losses for Lottery Numbers in Total Drawings, House Advantage, Edge”.)

I multiplied PI by the pick 3 4 sets still kinduv joking. Going back a few draws might save some money because NOTHING derived from PI (or PHI, or e, or any other “special” number) will hit soon. You will see in my reports at the end of this post what data shows.

How about “improving” the system by going further back in the data file.

• Pick-3 lottery: Go back to draw #314 and select the set drawn in draw #315
o Multiply PI by that number.

• Pick-4 lottery: Go back to draw #3141 and select the set drawn in draw #3142
o Multiply PI by that number.

It might take fewer drawings for the pick sets to hit. Look at the reports in the next thread to get an idea of how many draws it takes for this type of systems to win.

Size limits… probably the maximum is 600 lines. This is the reason the reports didn’t go through yesterday. Google, however, informed me that my message was… ‘posted and available shortly’!

Hello
Thank you Mr. Saliu for the information you have presented.
I will look and verify what can happen, with the forecaster based on concepts, not numbers.
If it complies with the structure, at a general level, which forms or should compose any combination, in sets of numbers.
I am in favor of believing that all combinations have a structure, how difficult it is to know or to predict the number or numbers of the combination, whether they are composed of two digits (10-11-12-etc ..) or one (1-2- 3-4-5-6-7-8-9-0) and the one who has to leave, mission impossible.
And if you allow me a comment, I think there must be a method or system that serves all the games.

A greeting and thanks for the information.

• Happy PI Day III XIV MMXIX!

An interesting year: 19 is a prime number, but 2019 is not!

The year of grace 2019 is divisible by 3; result = 673

The year of grace 2019 divided by PI equals 642 (without decimals).

The pick-3 lottery numbers to play for the rest of the year: 673 and 642. The budget conscious could play boxed instead of straight.

Analyzing data in Pennsylvania Lottery -
• The 2 sets recorded 20 straight hits and 332 boxed wins in some 10,000 drawings.
• The most recent straight hit occurred some 160 draws back (in the year of grace 2018).
• The most recent boxed hit was recorded around 25 drawings ago (February 2019).

• The 20 straight wins amount to $10,000 total winnings, with the cost (calculated for $2 per draw) equal to $20,000; equivalent to random play for the house edge of 50%.
• The 332 boxed hits amount to some $26,500 in winnings and a profit of over $6,000. Evidently, boxed play fared far better than straight and random play by making a profit ($6 per day or a 6-pack of beers!)

Now, the LPeesters of the world might ask themselves: "Is there something about PI or the year of grace 2019?"

Point is, data analyzed was prior to 2019. What counts is only the running year. But every year could be divided by PI and play the integer part (one straight set) for the entire year.

The next year with a similar structure is 2031. 31 is a prime number, but 2031 is not.
• 2031 / 3 = 677
• 2031 / PI = 646

Only divisibility by 3 counts here as it represents the integer part of PI. Tesla, a good joker himself, was very conscious of number 3. For example, he only rented room numbers divisible by 3. Some women alleged that Tesla had sex only in threesome configurations! Who knows for sure?! But we know for sure that Donald Caligula Trump had 3 wives. He is seen only with 3 of his children. He also wants 3 terms as President…

‘Your brains on drugs’ doesn’t mean the ‘artificial intelligence AI’ that you claim (driveling all over the place). Look at your delirious speeches driveled all over the place!

You are never conscious of what you are saying or doing. They are unconscious acts of a drugged pig (as it is now the ‘Year of the Pig’). That’s why the pigs or yaks have no IQ.

I’ll send you back to the iGraveyard of iPsychosis, imbecile of dementia dimensions! Ignoring your drugged-psychosis is not dignified. In fact, you’ll come back in an improved condition. It happened in the year of grace 2017. Just before you dropped dead in your pigsty, you dropped in your iGrave of iPsychosis. You came back in an improved condition — but not completely cured.

You’ll get roasted as an offertory to your gods…

Look at your delirious speeches driveled all over the place! You are never conscious of what you are saying or doing, imbecile of dementia dimensions. The red psychiatrists are still incapable of deciphering your madness — they keep sending you here to have you give them more clues. They hope they might be able to discover antipsychotic meds… and flood the Western market with them…

“You win… but you don’t care who the winner is…” “i got serious after round 6 and let advantage go myself purposely....if RANDOM wanna win, i will let it.” “it is not targeting jackpot but for fun…”

Looked at all that delirium tremens at its peak! It looks ominous this time… looks like you might soon drop in a grave…

You can get lost easily in public forums like this Usenet group. THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY POSTS!!! The overwhelming proportion of such “scribbles” are nothing more or above garbage, nonsense, one-liner bullshitting, fights, controversies, etc.

To solve the problem, I created a thread referring to the most relevant articles, materials, debates, systems, fights, etc. I keep it updated and make sure it shows at the top of this Google group:
